Now you, too, can experience the “king of the world”-like thrill of building your very own Titanic.
In conjunction with the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the now-legendary ocean liner – a milestone that seems to be approaching faster than a iceberg off the starboard vow – the art book publisher Taschen is releasing “Build Your Own Titanic.”
The paperback book, which sells for $14.99, includes a history of the doomed ship (in English, French and German, no less), nicely decked out with period photographs. It also includes pre-cut cardboard pieces and detailed instructions as to which tab is supposed to fit into which slot so that the end result is a 1/200 scale model (about 53 inches long) of the HMS Titanic.
One thing this model will have in common with the original – it probably won’t make it all the way across a pond, either….
