As I was working on the high school football page on Saturday morning, I picked up a call from the Forest Ridge golf shop.

There was an event that occurred at Forest Ridge today that beat 17 million to 1 odds. Back-to-back golfers in the same group made a hole- in-one at the 158-yard, No. 13 hole.

The golfers were Ernie Anderson, who used a 5-hybrid to record his seventh ace of his career; and Mike Andrist, who used a 5-iron for his fifth career ace.

I've played and watch a lot of golf since 1970 and I've only personally witnessed two holes-in-one -- Paul Azinger's at the 1988 PGA in Edmond and my own at Forest Ridge's No. 3 in 2008 (in my case it took a little luck.).
