And thus the reason has been given for mobile gamers to get a new iPhone.

Since the cancellation of Infinity Blade: Dungeons, no further news came out of ChAIR Entertainment about what would happen next for the Infinity Blade series. However today, the company has revealed alongside the announcement of the new iPhone that the series is continuing with the title we have all been wanting for: Infinity Blade III.

Infinity Blade III will continue the story of Siris as he quest to put a stop to the Worker of Secrets; the creator of the Infinity Blade itself and the one who locked Siris inside the Vault of Tears at the culmination of Infinity Blade II. Based on the trailer, things seem to be quite dire for the planet. If you view the trailer below, you will see that the moon has been blown apart at the 0:33 mark. We also get to put a face to Siris and Isa; the woman traveling with him during Infinity Blade II, as we will get to see them without their armor on. If you want more information on the Infinity Blade story, you can download the new eBook Infinity Blade: Redemption, which is out now and serves as a bridge between Infinity Blade II & III.

According to the game’s Facebook page, it will be the first 64-bit game available and will have players control both Siris and Isa. Players will also get six combat styles to choose from, hundreds of items to use and three new ClashMob modes to play.

Infinity Blade III releases on September 18 as a universal app for $6.99 and will be compatible with the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPad 4th gen, iPad 3rd gen, iPad 2, iPad Mini, iPod touch 5 and iPod touch 4.
