It's unsurprising that one of the world's most photographed women has ties to Britain's Royal Family.
But the crown doesn't belong to the Duchess of Cambridge -- it belongs to her younger sister Pippa, according to testimony from
Britain's Daily Mail .
According to Paul Silva, the Daily Mail newspaper's photo editor, he sees "up to 400 photographs" of Pippa each day. According to a story on CBS, Silva made those claims during an inquiry into the ethics of British media, in light of the Rupert Murdoch News of the World phone-hacking scandal that broke in 2011.
It makes sense. Pippa is constantly followed by photographers, and her personal life is speculated about in tabloids and newspapers every day -- including on this blog.
Why? Because she's pretty, fascinating, tied to the royal family, and -- most importantly -- she's relatively new on the scene.
Let's be honest: She unintentionally stole the show at last year's Royal Wedding with her gorgeous bridesmaid dress. And since, she's become a style icon.
And her shiny, new quality is what keeps us interested. I wonder if her popularity can be sustained.
But I do feel a bit bad for her -- her sister's the one who married a royal, yet Kate's afforded more security and royal-backed privacy.
I'm not one to pity an "it girl" for very long, but this situation is very interesting. The fervor for paparazzi photos seems to be reaching a fever pitch with Pippa.
Maybe Pippa should just marry Prince Harry, if only to get the full royal treatment when it comes to security.
What do you think -- is Pippa the new Princess Diana when it comes to media fascination?
