Some of the most influential names in modern music history can be traced to Oklahoma. In fact, some may say that our rich rock 'n' roll reputation spawned a revolution of sound dating back nearly a century.
The book "Another Hot Oklahoma Night" chronicles nearly everything, from the all-powerful record stores to radio to the very roots of rock. It took years to put together, its co-editor Jeff Moore said.
"Another Hot Oklahoma Night" is a reflection of the comprehensive exhibit by the same name at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City. At more than 180 pages, the book starts with the first well-known electric guitar player (Charlie Christian, who was raised in Oklahoma City) and examines a genre that's long been overlooked by Oklahoma — and mainstream music fans.
