It was officially announced this week that the
ACM@UCO "
School of Rock" was approved by the
Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education for degree programs (in many music genres, don't let that nickname fool ya).
Scott Booker, manager of Grammy Award-winning Okie psychedelic rock act The Flaming Lips, will be the school’s executive director.
NewsOK reports: Regents approved degree programs Thursday for the Academy of Contemporary Music, which opens this fall in rented space in the historic Oklahoma Hardware Building in Bricktown. UCO will offer two-year degrees in music performance and music production. Students can transfer to UCO’s main campus in Edmond if they want to pursue a four-year degree.
[...] The school is the first U.S. partnership with the Academy of Contemporary Music in England. About 150 students will be chosen to attend in the first year, and thousands have inquired, said UCO President Roger Webb.

Final Admission deadline: June 1
Programs offered are: Performance - Guitar; Performance - Bass; Performance - Drums; Performance - Vocal; Music Production.
