Jenks’ big win over Euless Trinity was good for a big jump in the latest Student Sports FAB 50 national high school football ranking.
Behind sophomore quarterback Cooper Nunley, the Trojans rallied from a 10-point deficit to win 27-23 in last Saturday’s Southwest Showcase in Southlake, Texas. It is believed to be their first-ever win over a Texas program.
Jenks jumped 14 spots in the FAB 40 -- from 40th to 26th. The Trojans also moved up two spots to No. 5 in the Southwest Regional rankings, trailing four Texas schools -- Allen, DeSoto, Katy and Lamar.
DeSoto stayed at No. 8 in the FAB 50 with its 44-20 win over Union in the Southwest Showcase. Euless, rated 20th last week, fell out of the FAB 50.
Jenks plays Union in Friday's Midfirst Bank Backyard Bowl at the University of Tulsa. Euless and DeSoto square off Saturday at Kincaide Stadium in Dallas.
