Jon Stewart is the host of "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart," airing at 10 p.m. weeknights on Comedy Central, cable 61. MARTIN CROOK/Comedy Central

When the head of the Central Intelligence Agency resigns amid reports of an affair with his biographer, it's big news.

When Comedy Central's Jon Stewart of "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" realizes he interviewed biographer Paula Broadwell on his show earlier this year and didn't pick up on any of "hints" of the affair, it's (comedy) news, too.

Stewart reviewed that interview Monday, mocking himself as "the worst journalist in the world" for not realizing something was going on between Broadwell and U.S. Gen. David Petraeus.

On the original show, Broadwell spoke to Stewart about Petraeus and how she first interviewed the now-former head of the CIA back before he was in charge of U.S forces in Afghanistan for her doctoral dissertation but decided to turn the research into the book "All In." She was on Stewart's show to promote the book.

The married general resigned Friday after admitting he had an affair with the biographer.

Here's video of the original uncensored interview Jan. 25, 2012 on "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart."

And here’s Stewart’s also uncensored reaction on Monday. Parental discretion advised.
