I sat down with Kevin Durant this week to talk about his new movie, "Thunderstruck," in which he proves he has game on the big-screen, too.

He told me that one of his favorite parts of the movie happened every time he saw an Oklahoma connection.

"The best part of it was watching the movie and seeing Oklahoma City this, Oklahoma City that, Chesapeake Energy Arena, all the people at the game being in the movie," said the recent gold-medal winner from the Olympics. "I really think it shined a light on Oklahoma in a new way."

"I’ve met people from so many cities and towns in Oklahoma, from Tulsa, Yukon, Durant, Lawton, Shawnee, El Reno. I’ve met so many people from all parts of Oklahoma, and their support, you know, it feels like they’re all out there fighting for us. I take that serious."

Watch for the rest of my interview with Kevin Durant, and a review of "Thunderstruck," in Friday's Tulsa World. The movie opens Friday in Tulsa at AMC Southroads 20, Cinemark Tulsa, Cinemark Broken Arrow and Starworld 20.

Meanwhile, check out the trailer for "Thunderstruck" before you see the movie.
