It’s official. E!'s "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star Khloé Kardashian Odom and "Extra" host and actor Mario Lopez will serve as hosts for the second season of "The X Factor" on Fox.
The network made the announcement Tuesday.
The two are expected to make their first appearance on the live broadcasts of the reality singing competition beginning Nov. 1 – providing the Major League Baseball World Series doesn't go to a seventh game. If so, Fox will pre-empt "X Factor."
The show airs at 7 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays on channel 23, cable 5 in Tulsa.
"The worst kept secret in Hollywood is out," said Simon Cowell in a press statement. "Mario and Khloé are our hosts. They will debut on our first live show in November and I couldn't be happier."
Odom, who is married to LA Clippers basketball player Lamar Odom, is an author, one of the stars of the E! hit reality series airing at 8 p.m. Sundays on cable 60 and executive produces "Khloe and Lamar" for the cable channel.
"I'm so thrilled to become a part of 'The X Factor' family," said Odom, in a press statement. "I've been a big fan of the show and look forward to working with Simon and all of the judges. It's going to be so much fun!"
Former "Saved by the Bell" star Lopez is the host of the entertainment news magazinee "Extra" and the radio show "On With Mario Lopez." He is also a New York Times best-selling author and hosts and co-produces the MTV reality shows "America's Best Dance Crew" and MTV's "Top Pop Group."
"I'm very excited to be joining 'The X Factor' team," he said. "I love the show and I've been a big fan of Simon Cowell and the judges for a long time. Khloé and I have been friends for years and I know we'll be a great team and have a blast."
On tonight's show, the judges reveal which of the four acts from each of the four categories will continue and which two acts will be eliminated.
