TULSA TO DO
All but one of this week's picks for things to do in Tulsa are free. And, that one exception? It's just $7 for an Irish dinner. ...
You're not going to run out of things to do this weekend. It will be easy to keep yourself, and the kids, busy with happenings ...
A friend told me he had thought more about Woody Guthrie in the last few days than he had his whole life.
It's no wonder. ...

Macarons (seen in back) make a delicious, and unique, Valentine's Day gift. Find them at Antoinette Baking Co.'s pop-up shop at La Donna's Fancy Foods on Valentine's Day.
Today's the day for flowers and chocolates, which you surely know if you've been paying any attention.
A single friend told me it seemed the Valentine's Day hoopla was especially excessive this year, and she was none too happy about it.
But if you are a fan of this day for sweethearts and if you haven't yet planned anything, here are a few ideas.
1. Think outside the box of chocolates. You can't go wrong with chocolates, of course, but if you're looking for something different, check out Antoinette Baking Co.’s macaron pop-up shop at La Donna’s Fancy Foods. These French cookie/pastries are a fixture in French bakeries, and it's rare to find ones so good in Tulsa. Buy them on Valentine's Day at La Donna's at 1615 E. 15th St. Call 918-582-1523 to check for availability.
2. Step back in time to a 1950s dance hall. The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame presents a Valentine's Day dance with the sounds of Rebecca Ungerman, Pam Van Dyke Crosby and Cindy Cain backed by a four-piece band. This all-ages show will be a fun, and different, way to spend the night. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the dance begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Jazz Hall, 111 E. First St. Cost is $10.
3. If you're not a traditionally romantic couple, why not hit the ice rink for an
Oilers game? The Oilers play Dayton at 7:05 p.m. Doors open an hour before, and tickets start at $15. Find out more at
tulsaworld.com/bokcenter.
4. Here's a fun idea for the kids: Take them to a special
Valentine's Day story time with Elmo at Hardesty Regional Library. This all-ages story time begins at 10:30 a.m., but seating will surely go quickly. Hardesty is located at 8316 E. 93rd St.
