The holiday season can now officially begin.
Mariah Carey has kicked it off with her iconic version of "All I Want for Christmas" on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.”
On Tuesday, R&B star Carey joined Fallon on tambourine and drums and The Roots playing musical instruments usually found in an elementary school classroom to croon her famous tune with some kids joining in on the chorus.
The whole thing happened backstage in the "Late Night" music room before the show, according to nbc.com.
The song, from her 1994 album "Merry Christmas," became a mega hit single and has remained at the top of the holiday music charts since then. In 2003 "Love Actually" with 11-year-old actress Olivia Olson performing the song.
"Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" airs at 11:35 p.m. weeknights on NBC, channel 2, cable 9.
