This is my first blog, ever. It might turn out to be another one of those seminal events in a professional career that goes all the way back to the manual typewriter. It might not, the speed with which things change these days.
Regardless, we are devoting this space to general conversations and observations about restaurants and wine. We might make occasional forays into areas probably better left to those with more knowledge, but we won't let that nag us, will we?
I do, in the course of gathering restaurant and wine information, occasionally run across items that just don't fit the stories we publish, so this should be a good place to air those items as well.
When strangers ask my wife what sort of work her husband does, she always replies: "He eats for a living, but it isn't all it's cracked up to be."
How true. But in the words of the great Charley Pride, "It beats pickin' cotton in Mississippi."
