MARVEL announced today that the main villain in the upcoming and highly anticipated "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be played by none other than veteran actor
James Spader. The Emmy Award-winning actor is no stranger to genre work, best known in that realm as the main character in the original "Stargate" movie. Though most people know him for his work on "The Practice" and "Boston Legal" as Alan Shore, a role that earned him three Emmy Awards.
Ultron was first introduced in the late 1960s as a creation of Hank Pym, otherwise known as Ant Man. Ultron is a robot who gains consciousness and goes crazy, with a particular hatred for both Ant Man and The Avengers. Given that Ant Man is getting his own film directed by Edgar Wright due to be released the same year as the Avengers sequel, it is unlikely that this story line will stay intact. The current rumor is that Ultron will be a creation of Tony Stark gone awry.
