In case, you haven't heard it enough, here's one more version of Carly Rae Jepsen's song of the summer "Call Me Maybe" but with a twist that proves the catchy tune has hit astronomical heights.
It's a mashup posted on YouTube.com that uses scenes from six "Star Wars" films.
Creator James Covenant of StarTunes combined clips from the films of the characters saying the song lyrics in languages that English for those of us of this world plus some Wookiee, Jawanese, Ewok and maybe Huttese.
The parody, which took him more than 100 hours to put together, has been viewed 6,234,666 times on the internet.
Covenant told newmediarockstars.com in an interview this summer that it was "time for me to make my own contribution to the madness" which has surrounded the song. Jepsen's song has been parodied by everyone from President Barack Obama to the U.S. Olympic swim and dive teams.
"I chose 'Star Wars' because it has such a huge impact on our culture," said Covenant in an interview with the website. "Star Wars is truly an American mythology, adopting many of the motifs found in Arthurian Legend. The myths in Star Wars are more than just good storytelling; they are a means of conveying transcendent truths.
"'Star Wars' is full of important moral values like the fight between Good and Evil, the importance of family, the virtues of bravery and self-sacrifice, and the corrupting effects of sin (the Dark Side of the Force). I think people love Star Wars so much because the values and truths that it teaches are still very relevant to our everyday life.
"I hope that when people watch my video they will remember all of the great experiences they have had in the Star Wars universe. So far, the feedback has been really encouraging. Many viewers have commented that after seeing the 'Star Wars Call Me Maybe' they are going to go back and re-watch all the Star Wars movies again!"
Giving credit where credit is due, he also posted: "Call Me Maybe" belongs to Carly Rae Jepsen and 604 Records and the "Star Wars" films belong to Lucasfilm.
So, one more time, "Call Me Maybe.”
