Memory Lane Tea Room opened about six months ago in Owasso. JAMES GIBBARD/Tulsa World
Dannette Goyer opened Memory Lane Tea Room at 209 N. Main St. in Owasso about six months ago.
"I lost my husband in 2010, and when I visited my grandmother and aunt in Maryland last year we went to a tea room and as soon as I walked in I said, 'This is what I want to do,'" Goyer said.
Memory Lane Tea Room offers lunch 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Desserts and tea are available 2-3 p.m.
The main dining room has 11 tables, and a private room seven more in white-tablecloth settings.
The menu is not long but offers a variety of choices, including finger sandwiches, scones with curd, quiche, soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts. Prices run $6.95 to $10.95, except for the desserts, which are $3.95.
More than 30 teas are on the beverage list and also are available in the Memory Lane gift shop.
Goyer's daughter, Elizabeth, prepares the chicken salad and scones daily.
The easiest way to get there from Tulsa is to take the 76th Street North exit off U.S. 169, then go west (left) to Main Street, then north (right) a couple of blocks.
