Muskogee senior Victor Williams announced on Tuesday that he has committed to play football at Dartmouth.

Williams caught 57 passes for 664 yards and four touchdowns this year as he returned to receiver after starting at quarterback in 2010. He also had 87 rushes for 375 yards and eight TDs. Williams returned a kickoff for a touchdown and also was a defensive back.

Williams said he expects to be used as a receiver and kick returner at Dartmouth, which he chose over Navy and Louisiana-Monroe. He plans to study engineering.

"The people up there were great to me during my visit last month," Williams said. "I felt comfortable there. It has good academics and football."

Williams said he was helped by first-year Muskogee head coach Josh Blankenship.

"This season has prepared me well," Williams said. "The intensity and flow of practice has helped me get ready for college."

Several former area standouts are playing for Dartmouth, including Bartlesville's Kirby Schoenthaler, Union's Corbin Stall, Verdigris' Cohle Fowler and Bishop Kelley's Joe Dowdell.

Dartmouth was 5-5 this season with wins in its final five games.

Verbal commitments are not binding.
