NBC News correspondent Tom Brokaw was taken to a Charlotte, N.C.-area hospital Thursday after feeling ill following an appearance on the set of MSNBC's "Morning Joe," according to CNN.com.
The former "NBC Nightly News" anchor is in Charlotte reporting on the Democratic National Convention.
"On the set of 'Morning Joe' this morning, Tom Brokaw felt light-headed," a network spokesman said in a statement. "Out of an abundance of caution, he was taken to a hospital. He is being evaluated and is in good spirits."
Brokaw updated his Twitter followers a short time ago: "All is well Early AM I mistakenly took a half dose of Ambien and made less sense than usual. Made a better comeback than Giants..."
Brokaw serves as a special correspondent for NBC, reporting and offering analysis for several of the network’s news programs, according to the website.
