It was one of those weekends for me when it comes to the NFL.
Not only did I miss all four picks in the office pool, but the one game I was really looking forward to watching -- Texans-Patriots -- was the least exciting game of the weekend.
Now that the biggest BCS bowl games are either in exclusive TV windows on New Year's Day or not played on that day at all, some think the weekend of the NFL divisional playoffs is the best two days of football all season.
After this weekend, those folks would get little argument.
Two of the games were thrillers and the other two had at least a little intrigue.
The Denver-Baltimore game was epic. It wasn't always pretty or the best-played game, but it will go down as one of the most exciting postseason games in NFL history.
With Peyton Manning losing, you wonder if we saw a true changing of the guard this weekend in the NFL?
Is the new generation of NFL quarterbacks ready to take over the game? I guess Tom Brady will have something to say about that next week in the AFC Championship Game.
You also have to wonder if we're seeing a true change in NFL quarterback philosophy. Are Seattle's Russell Wilson and San Francisco's Colin Kaepernick -- along with RGIII -- the new model, or is this just another fad before pro style "big boy" football returns.
Atlanta's Matt Ryan, your prototypical NFL quarterback, did have the final say against Wilson on Sunday.
So who do you have next weekend? After this week, I can definitely use the help. I'm leaning toward New England at home and the 49ers on the road, but we will see how the week goes.
If this weekend was any indication, it should be a lot of fun.
