NBC won't be going forward with a possible "The Office" spinoff.

That's the word from star Rainn Wilson who tweeted the news Monday.

"Farm Update: NBC has passed on moving forward with The Farm TV show. Had a blast making the pilot - onwards & upwards!" tweeted @rainnwilson about the pilot episode titled "The Farm."

The possible pilot was to center on Dwight Schrute (Wilson's character) and his family's beet farm. It was cast in August and Paul Lieberstein, who plays Toby on "The Office" and was the showrunner of the NBC comedy left to develop the new show, reported to tvguide.com.

Originally the "backdoor pilot" (one that airs as part of the original series and is not introduced as a first episode) was to air on "The Office" this, its last, season.

No word on whether or not fans will ever see it.

But, here’s Andy Bernard’s 2008 tour of the Schrute beet farm before his wedding. Courtesy
