Novelist Ally Carter
Oklahoma novelist Ally Carter, whose series of novels about the Gallagher Girls -- teen graduates of an academy that trains them as secret agents -- are New York Times best-sellers, will be at the Helmerich Library, 5131 E. 91st St., today -- Thursday June 17 -- beginning at 2 p.m.
Carter will talk about her work, in particular her latest book, "Only the Good Spy Young."
The "Gallagher Girls Sushi Party" is designed for fans of Carter's teen spy series. Participants will make candy sushi, learn a few spy training tips and get their Gallagher Girls' books autographed.
The Gallagher Girls series features the books "I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You," "Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy," "Don't Judge a Girl by Her Cover," and the newest in the series, "Only the Good Spy Young." Each book follows Cammie and her high-school friends attending a boarding school for spies.
Warner Bros. recently bought the rights to make a movie of her novel "Heist Society." Published in 2010, Carter once again presents a teenage girl who is trying to balance a normal personal life as well as a life in the dangerous underworld.
"Gallagher Girls Sushi Party" is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Friends of the Helmerich Library.
