For the fifth time in six years, Oklahoma State has set a record for football season tickets sold to the general public.

The total as of Wednesday morning was 37,830, according to the university. The previous record set last year was 37,794. Excluding 2010, OSU has raised the bar in season-ticket sales every year since 2008.

The record for total season-ticket sales -- public and student -- is 48,876, also set in 2012. OSU's goal for this year is 50,000. That goal is within reach if OSU comes close to the student season-ticket record of 12,059, set in 2011.

Since 2009, at least 10,500 student season tickets have been purchased annually. With class resuming this week, the number of student tickets sold is steadily increasing.
