"Game of Thrones" fans will get their first look at the series' official third season trailer Friday on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"
HBO announced Thursday the new 60-second trailer will air on the latenight talk show whose host is a big fan of the fantasy series.
Kimmel said he is looking forward to the return of the series at 8 p.m. Sundays starting March 31.
"I am so excited about this trailer, even I might watch my show," he told HBO.
The trailer, which will offer a first look at the action and treachery that continues in series which has become a pop culture phenomenon, will be posted to the "Game of Thrones" YouTube channel immediately following its east coast debut on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" at
tulsaworld.com/thronestrailer.
"Kimmel" airs at 11:35 p.m. weeknights on ABC, channel 8.
"Game of Thrones" is based on the popular book series "A Song of Ice and Fire," by George R.R. Martin. The Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning fantasy series chronicles an epic struggle for power set in a vast and violent fantasy kingdom.
