Britain's ITV has posted the official season three trailer for "Downton Abbey."
The mega-hit British TV drama, about life above and below stairs at a country manor, moves the family away from the Great War and into the roaring Twenties and a time of more change, more intrigue and more personal crises in its third season.
It is set to premiere in Jan. 6 on PBS, channel 11, with some new characters including actress Shirley MacLaine as mother of Cora, Countess of Grantham (played by American actress Elizabeth McGovern) and apparently news that the family fortune is gone or at least greatly depleted.
The series, which launches the third season starting Sept. 16 in England, is nominated for six American Emmy Awards, including outstanding drama, outstanding lead actor (Hugh Bonneville), outstanding lead actress (Michelle Dockery), outstanding supporting actress (Dame Maggie Smith and Joanne Frogatt) and outstanding supporting actor (Brenda Coyle and Jim Carter). It won last year in the miniseries category.
The Emmy Awards will be handed out Sept. 23 on ABC.
