Praise the Lord and pass the biscuits, Oklahoma Joe’s Bar-B-Cue is starting a Gospel Sunday Brunch this week at Cain’s Ballroom, 423 N. Main St.

The Full Flava Kings and Round Up Boys will be on hand to serenade the all-you-can-eat buffet crowd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

“Stubbs Bar-B-Q, down in Austin, does a similar deal,” said Oklahoma Joe’s owner Joe Davidson. “This is going to be a hoot.”

After this Sunday, Oklahoma Joe’s buffet will be offered only on the first Sunday of each month.

The buffet will include an omelet station with five meat choices, a quesadilla bar with 11 fillings, a salad bar with 15 items, six desserts, buttermilk biscuits and gravy, and a carving station with bone-in ham and ribs.

Among the many meat and vegetable items on the buffet line will be sliced brisket, pulled pork, bologna, smoked corn cobette, mac and cheese, smoked sausage and smoked chicken.

Cost is $25 adults and $10 ages 11-16. Customers pay at the door.

Davidson, who co-founded the famous Oklahoma Joe’s in Kansas City, and wife Page opened their Oklahoma Joe’s Bar-B-Cue a little more than a year ago in Broken Arrow.

They started serving weekday lunches at Bob’s, the second stage at Cain’s Ballroom, last November.
