"Origami for Beginners" will be held at Martin Regional Library.

Spring break is off to a bit of a dreary start, but there is no reason the rain should dampen the excitement of a whole week off school/work/whatever.

Here are some things you can do to have fun during today's probable rain.

Gilcrease jazz
Luckily, it's the third Tuesday of the month, meaning its time for "Third Tuesday Jazz" at Gilcrease Museum. This month's event will feature Leon Rollerson. A buffet dinner is available from The Restaurant at Gilcrease for $8 per person.
When: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Where: Vista Room, Gilcrease Museum, 1400 N. Gilcrease Museum Road.
Cost: Free with museum admission.

Origami
Libraries are always a good go-to choice when the outdoors is out of the question. A number of programs are going on at area libraries today, but the one that caught my attention was "Origami For Beginners," being held at Martin Regional Library. The event is for 8- to 12-year-olds. Preregistration is required. Call 918-549-7595 to sign up.
When: 2 to 3 p.m.
Where: Martin Regional Library, 2601 S. Garnett Road.
Cost: Free

Circle Cinema
Rain has a tendency to make you want to lay back and watch a movie. You could pop in that favorite DVD, or you could check out the free screening at Circle Cinema of "Revenge of the Electric Car," a documentary film directed by Chris Paine that chronicles the global resurgence of electric cars.
When: 6:30 p.m.
Where: Quad Theatre, Circle Cinema, 10 S. Lewis Ave.
Cost: Free
