Stillwater-born indie act Other Lives is heading out on a national tour with Bon Iver, Mates of State and Yawn. Tour dates below.
Said Paste magazine of the band's latest: "In 2009, we called Other Lives self-titled record "criminally underrated." Now the band has a new record called Tamer Animals slated for a May 10 release on TBD Records/White Iris Records, and we're determined to help get them the attention they deserve."
Said MTV in its "Bands We Like" feature: "Other Lives meticulously crafted their sophomore release over a grueling 14-month period. No fancy studio or producer, just the band wanting to present itself exactly how they wanted to be heard. The outcome is Tamer Animals, an incredible breakthrough album that takes you on an audible cinematic journey."
Says Pitchfork: "meticulously written and arranged and, at times, vividly cinematic. In the wrong hands, this music could feel labored or overstuffed, but thanks to the makeshift orchestra's shaggy ringleader, Jesse Tabish, these wistful Americana-styled tracks (influenced by Tabish favorites Sigur Rós and Godspeed You! Black Emperor) rarely feel forced."
