"Winter's Bone," the story of a teenager forced to find her father in the Ozark mountains around Branson or face the eviction of her family from their tiny home, is the best picture that I've seen this year to date, with the single best performance.
We don't often see our part of the country on film, so it's a rare film from that respect as well as the quality of the grand prize winner from this year's Sundance Film Festival.
Take a peek at the trailer here, and decide if it doesn't look authentic to many parts of Missouri (it was filmed around Branson and Forsyth) and Oklahoma. Then decide if you agree with me that Jennifer Lawrence looks strikingly like a young Renee Zellweger.
