Former Owasso pitcher Brian Flynn was called up by the Miami Marlins on Tuesday from Triple-A New Orleans and will start in his major league debut against the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday at Wrigley Field.

Flynn was 6-11 and led the Pacific Coast League with a 2.80 ERA. He also was selected as the PCL's top left-handed pitcher of the year...

Tulsa Drillers outfielder Kyle Parker and Arkansas Travelers outfielder Randal Grichuk were named as the Topps Texas League's players of the month.

Parker batted .330 in August with five homers and 23 RBIs. Grichuk led the TL in runs (22), extra-base hits (16), total bases (66), homers (7) and slugging (.574) in August.
