Recently, I sat down with the iconic Oklahoman, the "Sweet Lady with the Nasty Voice," Wanda Jackson, for an in-depth interview about her life, her music, her ministry and how she became The First Lady of Rock and Roll.
She is nominated for possible induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Her tune, "Let's Have a Party," is up for vote as the state's official rock song. She toured with some of the most influential acts of any generation: Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Buddy Holly.
... And she dated The King of Rock, Elvis Presley.
The full, in-depth story will be in Sunday's Tulsa World!! We're also preparing a special mini-site with audio, video, photo slide shows and news reports about the living legend.
In the meantime, I'll tease you with a slide show and parts of our interview with Jackson.
