Entries are being sought for the Nov. 5 Will Rogers Days Parade in Claremore.
Hosted by Claremore Reveille Rotary Club, this year's theme is “Will Rogers Says ‘Salute Our Troops.’”
The first parade was in 1938, on the day the Will Rogers Mememorial Museum opened. This year's parade starts 4 p.m. on Brady Street at the Claremore Expo-Recreation Center Veterans Parkway entrance in Claremore. It continues down Will Rogers Boulevard through downtown Claremore. Line-up will begin at 2 p.m.
Eight categories of entries include floats (any decorated vehicle or trailer-all other types are speciality entries).
Judging for “best use of theme” will begin at 3 p.m.
Other categories are:
°Marching bands (first, second and third place trophies awarded)
°Drill Teams/Scout Group
°Car Clubs/Antique Cars/Individual Cars
°Equestrian/individuals or groups (proof of coggin test required at line-up)
°Political
°Specialty entries, royalty organizations, celebrities
°Others
Entries should be submitted as soon as possible.
Forms may be picked up at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum gift store or submitted by email.
