Music icon Stephen Egerton sat down with the Tulsa World yesterday at his Armstrong Recording Studio here in Tulsa.

Probably best known for his work in bands the Descendents and ALL, Egerton's written -- and played every instrument on -- his first new album in years. He invited 16 friends, from local musicman John Moreland to Decendents bandmate Milo Auckerman, Lagwagon's Joey Cape, Mike Herrera of MxPx, Less Than Jake's Chris DeMakes and Jon Snodgrass of Drag The River, to name a few.

In part one of the candid and exclusive Tulsa World interview, Egerton talks about three of his favorite tracks from his upcomging album "The Seven Degrees of Stephen Egerton." (Heck, he can get to Kevin Bacon in three and President Obama in two. The man's connected.)

PLUS! Stay tuned to the Tulsa World for more exclusive interview footage and print and CD release show news. Egerton will be at Tulsa's Crystal Pistol for the CD release party on May 15 with an array of the album's contributors in tow.
