American Humane Association reports hundreds of pets that went missing after last month's Moore tornado are still waiting to be reunited with their owners.
The dogs, cats and other animals are being housed at several temporary shelters throughout the area.
Gayla Sesher, animal welfare supervisor for the City of Moore, said there are resources available to assist family members affected by the storm who are trying to locate their pets.
Here are the facilities where families can look for their pets:

Oklahoma City, OK 73115 Pet owners are asked to bring some proof of ownership when coming to pick up their pets. Examples of proof include vet records, if available, and/or pictures.
The temporary animal shelters will remain open for families to claim their missing pets through June 19. People can also search for their pets on the Web by visiting
www.okclostpets.com or

“We’ve had more than 200 pets pass through the shelter at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds, and we’ve helped reunite nearly 80 animals with their families at this location so far,” Justin L. Scally, national director of American Humane Association’s Red Star Rescue team, said in a press release.
The rescue group has been helping to find and care for the animals displaced by the storm.
“The animals are safe, sound and receiving plenty of TLC, but they miss their homes. If you’ve lost a beloved pet, please visit the shelters or go to the websites that have been set up. Your best friend may be waiting for you.”
