"This is far more than golf. This is life."

That's the real story behind "The Short Game," a film about the seven-year-old youngsters who train and compete in the World Championships of Junior Golf, being screened Sunday at South by Southwest 2013 in Austin, Texas.

The trailer was posted on deadline.com Wednesday.

Among the 1,500 pint-sized masters followed in the film are Allan Kournikova (the seven-year-old brother of tennis pro Anna Kournikova), Zamokuhle Nxasana, Alexa Pano, Yang Kuan, Jed Dy, Augustin Valery, Sky Sudberry, Amari Avery.

These competitors are skilled and dedicated, training 365 days a year for this one tournament, but they are also small children who have to learn to accept victory, defeat and hopefully, as one puts it, "shiny" trophies.

Emmy-winning director Greenbaum is the force behind the film with assists from Oscar-winning producer John Battsek and Oscar winner David Frankel who executive produced.

The feature-length documentary is being shopped around to potential buyers at the event.

For those not attending the annual music, film and interactive conference and festival known as SXSW 2013, here's the trailer:
