President Barack Obama took the stage at a White House event Tuesday to thank B.B. King and Mick Jagger for performing and ended up singing again.
Buddy Guy insisted the president join the all-star band (including Jagger, King, Booker T. Jones and Derrek Tucks) on stage and he did, breaking into a few bars with "Sweet Home Chicago."
The event was being taped for "In Performance at the White House: Red, white and Blues" which will air at 8 p.m. Monday on PBS, channel 11.
The event included program host Taraji P. Henson and performances by Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, Jeff Beck, Gary Clark, Jr., Shemekia Copeland, Buddy Guy, Warren Haynes, Mick Jagger, B.B. King, Keb Mo, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, with Booker T. Jones as music director and band leader.
