Odeum Theatre opened its production of "Reasons to Be Pretty" by Neil LaBute Thursday at the Tulsa PAC.

The full review will run in Saturday's Tulsa World, but here's an excerpt:

There is really only one reason to see “Reasons to Be Pretty,” Odeum Theatre’s newest show that opened Thursday at the Tulsa PAC — it’s pretty near perfect.
Neil LaBute’s acid-etched comedy about four very insecure lovers and friends, and the ways their relationships come apart because of one single, thoughtlessly spoken word, isn’t this author’s best play. It is more like a series of linked monologues and sketches, lacking that steely core of plot — usually culminating in one character’s physical or emotional destruction — that most of LaBute’s work contains.
But the Odeum cast, directed by company member Will Carpenter, make “Reasons to Be Pretty” more compelling and believable, more coherent and effecting — maybe even funnier — than it has a right to be.
