It looks as though the weather is going to cooperate, so grab a lawn chair and head out to the first Weinerfest, scheduled to run Friday through Sunday at the Dog House, 1101 S. Detroit Ave.
Some 20 bands are booked to perform throughout the festival, and of course the Dog House will be selling cool beverages and a vast array of hot dogs, soup, mini burgers, fries and onion rings.
If you want something to take the chill off, try the Dragon Breath. It starts with a hot link and finishes with extra spicy mustard, dragon relish, dragon slaw, wasabi, sriracha and chili chutney bacon.
The free festival is a late-nighter's dream. It runs 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. Friday, 3 p.m. to 4 a.m. Saturday and 3-8 p.m. Sunday.
