I stopped by the new R Bar & Grill, 3421 S. Peoria Ave., and the owners told me an exact opening date has not been set, but it should be soon, probably in the next couple of weeks.
Workers still are finishing up last-minute details, getting tables set up and art on the walls.
Josh Royal, Pauly Sorrentino and Bill Grant own R Bar & Grill, located in space that most notably was the original site of Blue Rose Cafe. It has been several different places in the past decade.
The owners have gutted and reworked the space into an attractive setting.
Trevor Tack is executive chef. He most recently held that position at Main Street Tavern in Broken Arrow and SoChey. He said the menu will be "upscale bar food."
I got a look at the tentative menu, and it looks inviting. It has appetizers, including a selection of meats and cheeses, pizzas, soups, salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts.
Some of the selections include fig and prosciutto pizza, ale-braised short ribs, meatloaf, prime rib French dip sandwich, truffle and sage fries, and wild mushroom risotto.
R Bar & Grill will be open seven days a week, beginning at 11 a.m. each day.
