Billboard and Nielsen SoundScan report that Reba McEntire’s hit a landmark: Thirty.
Sort of.
The Chockie native reported 30 million albums sold, making her the second woman in country chart history to do so. Reigning queen is Shania Twain with 34 million albums sold.
There’s a hitch in that giddyup, though. Nielsen SoundScan began reporting sales data March 1, 1991.
McEntire’s career started in 1975 and her sixteenth studio album, “For My Broken Heart,” was released in 1991, and all the sales numbers before that date aren’t included in the data. Twain’s career launched in 1993.
