I'm more than a little excited about Sunday's Golden Globes awards -- but not necessarily for the awards themselves.
I'm ready for the stars to turn it out at the red carpet.
I'll be writing a fashion roundup for
Monday's Scene section, so that means all my years of practice watching the E! red carpet extravaganza have paid off.
A few thoughts on what to expect Sunday night, in terms of fashion of course.
-- Red is probably out. Remember the Emmys -- when practically ever star turned out in va-va-va voom red? I think celeb stylists are probably on high alert to avoid that color. We'll see, though. Women love the color's wow factor.
-- White hot. Stars love to have a "white moment," as stylist du jour Rachel Zoe would say. And the Globes are a perfect place to start awards season with white. To avoid the bridal look, these gowns are usually sleek and sexy. I predict one or two white gowns tomorrow.
-- Color pop. With all the corals, yellows and margarita-greens on tap for spring, I'll bet some stars wear some peachy keen looks this year. Remember Emma Stone's look last year? She went from starlet to superstar practically over night thanks, in part, to her high profile roles, but also due to her great stylist, Petra Flannery.
-- Prints. Expect some serious fashionistas -- Michelle Williams and Tilda Swinton spring to mind -- to wear something completely unexpected. A print would be too daring for the Oscars, but perfect for the Globes.
-- Big star power. This year's Globes promises to host a huge list of fashion heavy-hitters: Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, Kate Winslet, Lea Michele, Emma Stone, and many, many more.
Bottom line: This will be one serious fashion show!
