Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford were back together again Wednesday on the "Today" show.

Philbin, 80, who shared a host desk with Gifford for years on the "Live With Regis & Kathie Lee" daytime talk show, subbed for regular "Today" co-host Hoda Kotb.

It was the first time Gifford and Philbin had co-hosted since Gifford left the daytime show 12 years ago.

The show included a clip from their first national show and the couple reminisced about their time together and his multi-episode guest starring role as the flirtatious hairstylist Pierre on “Hot in Cleveland” with Betty White.

Philbin also talked about being hired by NBC to celebrate the nation’s 236th birthday as host of the "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" airing at 8 p.m. July 4 on channel 2, cable 9.
