This is the last thing I’m going to have to say about Charlie Sheen. Maybe.
Every time I think he can’t make things worse, he does. I saw snippets of his Internet talk show or whatever that was. Tuesday morning I saw video of him standing atop a building waving a machete around.
I didn’t hang around that news story long enough to find out why he was on a roof waving a machete.
Not to brag or anything, but on Sept. 20, 2009, I wrote a column about the “truthers” group and Sheen. The “truthers” - Sheen is one - believe that the administration of President George W. Bush somehow orchestrated the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and the truth is being covered up.
They are as adamant, and misguided, as the “birthers” who continue to believe that President Barack Obama is not qualified to be president because he was not born on U.S. soil. But that’s another blog for another time.
In the 2009 column I related that I was then a big fan of Sheen's TV show, “Two and a Half Men.” Then, I wrote: “I don't know a lot about Sheen's private life but I have read enough lately to believe that he might have gone around the bend.”
I’m sure I was not the first or only person to recognize the growing looniness in Sheen back in 2009. But I certainly was one of them.
It doesn’t qualify me for any awards or anything. The fact that I can remember something that I wrote in 2009 is reward enough for me.
So, this is the last thing I’ll write about Charlie Sheen. Maybe.
