Synthetic wails and chest-thumping beats rolled from more than half a dozen mixers and effects boards at Cain's Ballroom on Wednesday night.
Grammy-nominated breakbeat dance music duo Crystal Method turned Tulsa's historic honky tonk into a rave.
The pair dressed in sport coats, tees, jeans and tennis shoes and was ensconced in a semi-circle of mixers, keyboards, synthesizers, computers, cords and knobs. Sweat etched their faces as fans danced and rotated their arms in large circles, making tracer-like effects in the strobes.
Tunes "Divided by Night," "Cherry Twist," "Drown in the Now," "High Roller," "Trip Like I Do," "Name of the Game," "Busy Child" rolled into one another. Trying to keep a set list was moot. These guys mixed up everything, and with great results.
