This book cover actually matches the board shorts I wore on vacation last week.

See the diamond grill? Should've gone gold to match his medal.
I had every intention of reading at least one book on vacation, but all I did was eat, watch HGTV and do umpteen crossword puzzles.
However, had I downloaded Erik Larson's "Isaac's Storm" as planned for a potential book club FGP and I have joked about starting at Hooter's (more on that later, depending on if we actually do it), my swim trunks totally wouldn't have matched the cover.
As I found out on BuzzFeed.com, there's a new tumblr called Matchbook.nu, on which the clever Kate Imbach
pairs swimwear with beach reading -- like a pink bikini with black and white details paired with "Valley of the Dolls," or a flowery Marc by Marc Jacobs swimsuit put with Sloane Crosley's collection of essays "I Was Told There'd Be Cake." I know people who would totally do this. But what about my friends who read via Kindle Fire? Perhaps they should match their Kindle covers.
Anyway, while perusing those photos, I stumbled upon a tongue-in-cheek BuzzFeed article on
"Ryan Lochte's 18 Fashion Rules." I'm assuming it's sarcastic, anyway, considering the talented swimmer's less-than-runway fashion choices, i.e. a diamond grill (for his teeth, not his back patio), studded cargo shorts, studded back packs, sparkly shoes, blah, blah, blah. I do appreciate his taste in Speedos, though. Meh, whatever, I'm a couch potato, so what the heck do I know?
Peace, love and studded Olympic swimmers (is that redundant?) ... XOXO
