Red Oak's Lane Adams capped a stellar season that raised his stock with the Kansas City Royals by going 3-for-5 with four RBIs to propel Omaha to a 10-5 win over Salt Lake in Game 4 of the Pacific Coast League finals on Saturday. Omaha won the series, 3-1.
Adams, an outfielder who ended the regular season with Northwest Arkansas, moved up to Omaha when the Texas League schedule ended. Adams and a few other Northwest Arkansas players were added by Omaha when Kansas City called up several Omaha players for its stretch drive for an American League wild card. Omaha was 70-74 in the regular season.
Omaha's manager is former Tulsa Drillers infielder Mike Jirschele. It was Omaha's second pennant in three years.
