One of country music’s brightest stars, singer and songwriter
Sara Evans will perform the U.S. national anthem in front of a global audience on Thursday, prior to Game Two of The Finals between
the
Oklahoma City Thunder and the
Miami Heat at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
The performance will be televised live 7:53 p.m. Thursday on ABC in the U.S. and to a worldwide audience in 215 countries and territories, an email from the NBA confirmed.
Evans is an ACM and CMA Award-winning singer/songwriter and has sold nearly six million albums in her career, with No. 1 singles including “Born to Fly,” “Suds in the Bucket,” “A Real Fine Place to Start,” and most recently “A Little Bit Stronger.”
Previously recognized as one of People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People,” she was also the first country artist to appear as a contestant on ABC’s "Dancing with the Stars."
