Sausage and Green Chilie Strata
5 slices bread, crusts removed (sourdough is best)
Butter
1 pound Italian sausage
3/4 pound grated cheddar cheese
1 (4-ounce) can chopped green chilies
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
4 eggs
2 cups milk
1. Lightly butter and cube bread. Put half in a greased 3-quart casserole dish.
2. Brown and crumble sausage. Pour half over bread. Add half the cheese and half the green chilies. Repeat layers.
3. Beat eggs with milk and mustard. Pour over layers. Refrigerate overnight.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Serve immediately.
