She was diagnosed with breast cancer in April and will be featured in the one-hour TLC special "Say Yes to the Cure: Lori's Fight," airing at 9 p.m. Oct. 26, according to people.com.

"I'm the girl that everybody counts on. I'm the girl that when you need something done, I'm there to do it," she says in the TV special. "But this go-to girl is going to be down for a little bit."

In a video clip provided to the website, the usually upbeat owner of Bridals by Lori is in tears when she delivers the news to her staff.

"I went in for a regular mammogram, and the results came back positive, and I have breast cancer," she tells her stunned employees. "I've got to have surgery and I'm going to be out for quite a while."

Her best friend Monte Durham tries to lighten the mood after she explains he will be running the bridesmaids’ floor and the bridal shop in her absence.

In the special, she will talk about getting the diagnosis and her battle to beat the disease.

"I was devastated when I found out that I had breast cancer,” she says in the video clip. "Wanting to turn something very negative into something positive, I decided to share my journey ... in hopes that I can raise breast cancer awareness and perhaps help other women facing breast cancer be less afraid.

"Breast cancer is a personal journey and, throughout this process, some days were easier than others, but I survived with faith, family and friends."

In this TLC video, Allen gives a tour of her bridal store and explains how "jacking up" a bride is not a derogatory term.
