This Thursday, you can see "Paranormal Activity 3" ahead of the crowd, and you don't even have to stay up until midnight to do so.
But close to it.
Paramount Pictures has decided to release the third installment in the found-footage series of spooky films at 10 p.m. on Thursday at multiple area theaters, including Cinemark Tulsa, Cinemark Broken Arrow, Promenade, Starworld 20 and Owasso's Showplex.
The studio knows its audience; the fans are already geeked for those midnight movies that give you the heebie-jeebies, so why hook twice as many on opening eve? Yes, the traditional midnight previews are still showing.
The movie only runs 1 hour, 24 minutes, so it won't even keep some people up past their bedtime on a Thursday night.
