Katy Perry is the voice of Smurfette in "The Smurfs." At least the dress is cool. Perry plays the BOK Center Sept. 17.
I know there are more important topics to discuss on a Monday, but I can't help bringing up the Smurfs.
In case you haven't heard (or cared), the little blue creatures from the '80s cartoon are hitting the silver screen with "The Smurfs" this Friday.
The movie stars Neil Patrick Harris, but it's this dress - worn to the premiere by the voice of Smurfette herself, Katy Perry - that has me more interested.
The "Teenage Dream" singer is known for her many over-the-top, exaggerated candy girl get-ups, but this one seems to actually work. I wonder if this will ignite a full-on tween fashion trend.
Or do kids today even care?
I watched the cartoon along with all the other '80s kids - on Saturday mornings in my PJs. The studio is counting on nostalgia to reap big box office bucks, but I'm not sure about this one.
